Growing up, Jenny’s love of nature began to flourish while exploring the coast lines and countryside that surrounded her home town of Plymouth. When she wasn’t wandering along coastal paths or exploring National Trust gardens, Jenny was often at home with a pencil or paintbrush in hand, and later a needle and thread after she started taking embroidery classes at the age of 11.
In 2015, Jenny began studying for a textiles degree at Cardiff Metropolitan University. Already an established artist with her own business, Jenny Evans Designs, she began to explore how she could use the influences from both her early childhood and time she had spent travelling abroad, to inspire and create products that would help people bring nature into their everyday lives.
In November 2017 Jenny staked her claim in the world of British interiors by creating Jenny Kate Ltd. This company sees Jenny transition from art school graduate to a force of nature in British interiors. The inaugural collection ‘Binding Roots’, confirms Jenny’s place as a highly accomplished designer with an eye for the unusual, being unafraid to mix light and shade, pretty and edgy to create exceptional, timeless designs for our range of interior products and accessories. 2019 saw Jenny raise £350,000, shortly after graduating from University. From there, she grew the Jenny Kate team and relaunced her business with a Pop-Up store in London. Jenny also became UK Policy Chair for Young Entrepreneurs for the Federation of Small Businesses - advocating for other young entrepreneurs, while continuing to run and grow Jenny Kate.
